Situations Where Hexing is not a Good Idea

You are looking to cast an official hex on somebody. I fully support this decision: curse as you please.  

But are there situations where I would recommend walking away instead of doing hex work? 

Yes. Not everybody should proceed. Some form of structure and gatekeeping must exist within magical practice, especially the demonic one, because not every impulse deserves escalation. 

In this article, I will discuss the situations in which stepping away from hex spells is the wiser decision. 

Too Scared of Consequences 

As I explained here, hexing has been one of the ways that people, oppressed or not, have fought for their autonomy for centuries. Combative magic was deeply tied to survival in ancient societies. The desire to regain control in hostile circumstances is permanent.

However, cursing goes against a lot of things you have been taught. Judeo-Christian propaganda goes deep, as well as the belief that whatever ill intent you put into the "universe" will come back to you threefold.

Those old lies affect black magic users adversely. There is no harm in hexing. 

Cursing should feel like a therapeutic action. It is a tool to find an advantage in this unfair world. It allows you to let that anger leave your body, knowing that your decision is right. It's you or them: by hitting those people, you are picking yourself.

Nonetheless, if you are truly concerned about the consequences of the spell and afraid of the supposed karmic repercussions of hexing others, you can take it as a sign that you are not ready yet to engage in this type of work. 

Demonic witchcraft is radical and active. Fear has no place here. Progressing only through love and light is not possible. You should be seeking justice plus interest. You must be willing to employ tactics that aren’t considered fair and believe in your clarity of judgment. 

A fearful mindset gets in the way of a fruitful practice. You are not educated enough and this is okay. Don't be afraid to take a step back from magick for a while.

Money Problems 

If money is tight, ordering hex rituals to punish your enemies is a sacrifice. You are sacrificing yourself for another person.

In fact, this is one of the situations in which I tend to step in and advise clients against proceeding with curse work. 

As curses can get pretty personal, it's completely common to lose your objectivity during the process. However, if your own life is collapsing while your focus remains fixed on destroying somebody else, something has gone wrong. Many people become so consumed by hatred that they begin investing resources into enemies while neglecting their own future and stability. And when their entire existence has become centered around another individual, feeding the conflict even further is often the wrong move. At that point, the enemy has already taken too much. 

Prioritizing the self is a foundational element of Luciferianism. 

Use demonic magick to rebuild yourself first. Stabilize your finances. Recover your confidence. Open your roads. Become stronger, wealthier, calmer, and more difficult to harm. Then, when your own foundation is secure again, you may return to the matter and curse them properly. 

Paranoid Users

I said it once and I will say it again: the occult community is full of self-indulgently insane people, being those who believe that everybody is cursing them the worst of them all. There are plenty of delusional individuals out there who become consumed by spiritual dramas involving possessions, group curses, psychic attacks, and other imagined threats. 

At first, I believed them. Now, I have very little tolerance for their nonsense. 

Initially, they are enthusiastic. Over time, their behavior becomes increasingly erratic, reaching the point of no return. They believe they are dealing with a grand conspiracy: everyone is putting spells on them, their friends, their neighbors, the witches they used to work with. They are likely the common denominator in all their failed relationships, but this is not what they want to hear. They just want someone to indulge in their delusions. 

When someone is not mature enough to realize that they are not the center of the universe, any involvement in occult practices is strongly discouraged. A dramatic persecution complex is mistaken for heightened spiritual perception, transforming every mundane discomfort into evidence of psychic attack, curses, or hidden enemies. These thoughts run rampant while ultimately leading nowhere

It's necessary to work through that existential lack of control. If not, ordinary life itself can become unbearable. The idea that curses are everywhere is corrosive and 

The only thing that can save this megalomanic users is to step away and take a break from anything related to the magical world. They shouldn't be even lighting a scented vanilla candle. 

Witch Wars

I was reading an occult book one day when something caught my attention. The author mentioned having been hexed multiple times by “former magician friends.” But after thinking about it for a moment, I realized there was nothing surprising about that at all. Witchy friendships collapse into spiritual warfare all the time. Occult practitioners turning against one another is almost a cliché within magical circles. These witches are always fighting against a new enemy

You can see these explosive feuds on social media. Ironically, the more aggressively somebody tries to convince the world that they are powerful and ready to crush, the less I trust their validity. 

Spells gain power in the quiet.

Occult battles often happen within online forums and groups. The users are not professionals, only aficionados or novice witches still learning, and when there is a fall out with another member, they have no reservations cursing each other. This is something that I explained on Substack. The truth is that these friendships are dysfunctional and full of drama and when they inevitably end, the spiritual vendetta begins. One claims to be cursing the other to intimidate them, the other responds doing the same thing... 

At some point, the smartest person is the one who stops and calls it a day. No matter how upset you are, the last thing you want is to enter a magical feud with somebody who thinks exactly like you do. Even if no one is practicing witchcraft accurately - something very likely - witchy wars are psychologically exhausting. It's only a matter of time before they destroy themselves. 

Sometimes the best spell is not reacting to bait.
