Most Common Lies About Luciferianism

It is perfectly normal for anyone researching Luciferianism today to end up fascinated and terrified at the same time. Christianity has spent centuries spreading fear of Lucifer and demons, and this narrative became deeply ingrained through repetition. The deeper you look, the darker and more hysterical these portrayals become.

Although we are no longer living in the Middle Ages and people have more information and resources at their disposal than never, Luciferians are still asked the same questions:

Is it true that you sacrifice animals and babies?
Do you worship Satan?
Do you have to sell your soul to Lucifer to make a pact?

It's time to set the record straight. In this article, I address the most common lies about Luciferianism and explain what we truly are, what we believe, and what we practice.

Why Luciferians Have a Bad Reputation

Because of centuries of religious propaganda, it is understandable that people believe that we engage in unethical practices to obtain what we want. When it comes to Luciferians, suspension of disbelief seems to come by default.

Admittedly, the way we present ourselves also contributes to this perception. Poise and emotional control provoke fear. Luciferians are not easy to read, and this unsettles others. Not to mention the way we operate. Luciferians pursue ambition without guilt and make decisions without waiting for validation. We are decisive rather than reactive, strategic rather than emotional, and resilient rather than dependent. 

In our practice, the barriers that sabotage progress in other belief systems simply don't exist. Shame around desire, fear of judgment, the need for approval, obedience, and self-denial have no place here.

For this reason, most Luciferians are highly successful. This is a natural consequence of the alignment between will and action. And just as Christians turn to prayer when they need help, Luciferians turn to demons when we want something. If our desires are particularly grand, we don't hesitate to use black magick to achieve them. We have resources at our disposal to remove obstacles, destroy an enemy, or attract massive wealth, and we use them.

To an outside observer, there is something disquieting about a wealthy and powerful Luciferian, especially one who is relatively young. At a gut level, this feels wrong. Something dark must be hidden. What did this person do to get where they are? Surely, there will be a terrible price to pay in the not-too-distant future.

This is why stories of extraordinarily successful people who died young end with rumors of a deal with the "devil." Luciferians take a shortcut to the top and eventually face the consequences.

Success is usually presented through a story of struggle and sacrifice. The person worked incredibly hard, overcame countless obstacles, waited many years, and of course, remained humble through it all. It is more socially acceptable to present things this way. This is what drives many famous people to exaggerate or even fabricate adversity. Hence the famous “I came from nothing,” which isn't always true. They are indirectly saying, “I deserve everything I have.”

Luciferians don't need a tragic backstory to make our achievements more acceptable, nor do we feel the need to invent one. Our paths usually lack the familiar redemption arc that society expects. Perhaps this is why billionaires provoke a similar discomfort. The greater the fortune, the harder it becomes to tell a story of personal effort proportional to such an extraordinary outcome. Success without a tragic story feels unfair.

Do Luciferians Sacrifice Animals?

Everybody has heard stories about animals being sacrificed to worship Lucifer.

Although I have no need to convince anyone, the truth is that our rituals don't involve animal sacrifice. We don't present goats as offerings to demons or decapitate roosters.

Why? Because we don't need to.

That doesn't mean it wasn't done in the past. Animal sacrifice has played a major role in religious and occult history. Even in the Old Testament, a sacred text by millions of people, we find detailed instructions for sacrificing bulls, sheep, and birds. From Mesopotamia to Greece, from pre-Christian Europe to Asia and Africa, cattle, chickens, and other animals were routinely offered to the gods, forming a central pillar of community life. 

Sacrifice functioned as negotiation.

Our ancestors didn't understand natural phenomena. Droughts, floods, and disease were interpreted as divine intervention. Any disaster was in some manner or another attributed to gods. They were seen as supreme beings with emotions similar to humans', capable of anger and jealousy, but also of being appeased. The intention behind animal sacrifice was to give up something valuable in exchange for protection. 

Animals were used not because they were disposable, but precisely because they were not. Livestock could mean the difference between survival and death. For ancient people, offering a chicken or a cow represented an immense loss. At a time when food was scarce, this was considered the perfect way to persuade the deities.

This is the part that is deliberately left out: a sacrifice only has meaning when it comes at a cost. Today, a chicken has no value. You can walk into a supermarket and buy one for a few dollars. Offering one doesn't threaten your survival, your winter, or your ability to feed your family. We don't live in that world anymore. 

Today, Animal sacrifice is completely unnecessary. And like everyone else, Luciferians have moved on from practices that are no longer acceptable. No more, no less. Luciferians don't sacrifice animals because animal suffering, in this context, is pointless and cruel.

Devil Worship and Blood Rituals

So where did this idea of crazy sacrifices come from?

From the other side.

The seeds of the bloody Satanic sacrifice myth were planted in Europe between the 13th and 17th centuries, during the era of witch hunts and heresy trials. Early accusations of witchcraft involved claims that someone had caused illness, killed livestock, or destroyed crops, which was already devastating enough. But as inquisitors and theologians became involved, the accusations took a much darker and more dramatic turn. 

Suddenly, there were stories of secret nocturnal gatherings with other witches, dancing and worshipping the devil, sex with demons, murdered babies, and ceremonies where the cross was desecrated and trampled on. 

During interrogation and under pressure, the accused ended up confessing. These extravagant acts of depravity, initially introduced as suggestions, were then treated as fact and became a template for future accusations of witchcraft. In reality, these accounts reflected the imagination of the interrogators and the ideas they themselves had brought into the room more than anything that had actually happened.

All those acts supposedly associated with Devil worship survived in the popular imagination. As a result, some Satanic groups still engage in them today, not because they have to, but because they have internalized those accusations, mistaking them for Christian doctrine about Satanism.

Here is the paradox: humans simply perform the role they have always been told is theirs.

The less educated they are, the more likely these Satan worshippers are to resort to extreme theatrics in order to feel rebellious and edgy: smearing themselves with blood, offering severed pig heads, or "enjoying" ritualized orgies.

This is why cult leaders and grifters rely on them as well. Shock is what their followers expect to see, and transgression compensates for the absence of genuine knowledge and structure. Using the "Satanic" mythology as an aesthetic is very productive for posers: a naive newcomer can see these barbaric practices as proof of how real the organization is, rather than recognizing them as part of the fraud.

Satanists and Luciferians 

Much of the confusion about us comes from the persistent habit of treating Satanism and Luciferianism as identical and interchangeable. Both share certain foundational principles. Both reject blind obedience and externally imposed moral authority. Both emphasize personal responsibility and self-determination. 

Satanism and Luciferianism start from the same foundation, but from there, they diverge dramatically in orientation and method. Satanism defines itself through provocation and open confrontation with religion. As explained above, their theatrical practices and aesthetics serve a clear function: to provoke discomfort and express defiance.

Luciferians, by contrast, are not looking for something to challenge. In fact, one distinction we like to make is that we don't like to use the word Satan, as it means “adversary.” There are more reasons, but I won't bother getting into that today. 

Luciferianism is oriented toward personal advancement rather than rebellion. We confront the rules of the word through our sorcery, but not for the sake of fighting. We simply understand that those rules are not always fair, and that sitting back and accepting the world as it is makes no sense.

Unfortunately, the figure of Lucifer is still associated with the absurdities performed in the name of Satanism, when in reality Luciferians have little interest in interfering with others unless someone interferes with us first. We believe in individualism and freedom. We don't go looking for others to convince them to join us. We respect the free will and other people's choices. Many Luciferians, in fact, belong to elite social circles, where they do more good than anyone might imagine.

Perhaps the day will come when people see us for what we truly are. Until then, we will simply continue living our lives while the myths live theirs.
